Notes from a laptop checkout program

On April 16th, we launched our first series of 30-minute webinars, designed to share information from libraries in a quick format so you can get started today. This month, Be Astengo from the Alachua County Library District shared her perspectives on her library's laptop checkout program. If you missed it--you're in luck!

The kind folks at WebJunction archived the webinar on their site. I encourage you to spend just a half hour listening to what Be had to say, and consider how you can use her experiences in your own library.

Notes on a Laptop Checkout Program

Please also visit the After the Webinar discussion on WebJunction and share your thoughts and experiences. Continue the conversation!

Be isn't the first person with whom we've spoken about laptop checkout programs. Many libraries have shared why they decided to offer laptops to patrons, and we've captured their perspectives in the Recipes for a 5-Star Library Cookbook. For more information on where to find stories about laptop checkout programs, visit a recent blog post on the topic.

As always, if we haven't yet interviewed you, please get in touch! We'd love to spotlight your library. Even if you think you have nothing to share, keep in mind that what may be "that's nothing!" to you, may be an "aha!" to someone else!
