If you've contributed to a Cookbook...

...you've likely chatted with Kami Griffiths, our interviewer extraordinare! Kami has talked to hundreds of libraries, learning how things get done, how libraries make things happen with few resources, and how libraries are eager to share their experiences so that others can learn from their mistakes and triumphs.

Kami, chatting with a librarianKami, chatting with a librarianWhen not at TechSoup, Kami is a tireless volunteer, spending hours in computer labs, teaching classes and helping others use technology to access resources, find jobs, and complete tasks.

Recently, Kami volunteered at a half-day workshop in the Tenderloin, a low-income neighborhood in San Francisco. Anyone with a tech problem was invited to bring in their computers and take advantage of the expertise in the room. One lucky attendee learned how using Ubuntu, a free, open source operating system, can save him the money he'd spend on costly software licenses.

CNET covered the event, and produced a short video that's worth watching. Check it out, and see Kami smiling behind a computer monitor, doing what she loves. Keep it up, Kami!
