Kami, chatting with a librarianWhen not at TechSoup, Kami is a tireless volunteer, spending hours in computer labs, teaching classes and helping others use technology to access resources, find jobs, and complete tasks.
Recently, Kami volunteered at a half-day workshop in the Tenderloin, a low-income neighborhood in San Francisco. Anyone with a tech problem was invited to bring in their computers and take advantage of the expertise in the room. One lucky attendee learned how using Ubuntu, a free, open source operating system, can save him the money he'd spend on costly software licenses.
