Thinking about Columbus

It's Columbus Day. I probably would have forgotten about the holiday, but while trying to complete my errand list for the day (mail package at post office, return books to library...), I was reminded. To be honest, the Columbus on my mind right now is the Columbus Metropolitan Library, because Helene Blowers works there.

One of the things I do for MaintainIT is present at conferences. I will be traveling to Athens, Georgia tomorrow, to present at COMO 2.0, the Georgia Council of Media Organizations Convention. Kendra Morgan, with WebJunction's TechAtlas, and I will be presenting a pre-conference called, "Taking on Technology." I'll be playing the Helene Blowers' Library Spotlight audio clip for the group. It's only about 2 minutes long, but it seems to have a big impact on groups. If you haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, I recommend taking a couple of minutes to do so now. She highlights a few ideas that I think really are key to success with technology, including the need to foster a culture of learning and innovation.

If you're going to be at COMO in Athens, please stop by our session to say hi!

What a dynamic duo!
