Last night I returned from a week-long trip to Colorado--a much-needed respite after the craziness leading up to ALA. While in Colorado, I stopped by the John C. Fremont Library in Florence, CO to check in on some new friends who happen to be doing some incredible stuff at their library.
Which brings me to TOMORROW...
In July's installment of the MaintainIT 30-minute webinar series, Kieran Hixon and Jesse Weaverfrom the John C. Fremont Library will share how their library went from a paper-based PC reservation system to a snazzy, automated system that was developed by Jesse, a part-time staff who also happens to be 16 years old. (!) He's also planning to share with you where you can download this application, for free.
WHEN: July 15th, 11:00 am to 11:30 am (PST)
WHERE: WebJunction's webinar space
Kieran showed me around the library, I met Jesse's dad, and got to watch Jesse in action as he set to work, fixing the printer the moment he walked in the door.
Oh, and I also reminisced with Kieran about the previous night we spent at the Wetmore Community Library's square dance.
More on that, later. :)
